In the beginning of any relationship or marriage everything might seem great but with time you discover the difference you both have. Some you like, some you may not.

Understanding that marriage especially is a union of 2 people. Forever or actually “til death do we part”. So when when issues come up that seem. very bad or disturbing you need to access how this makes you feel and communicate this to your spouse.

In any event learning how to live with your differences and being happy with each other despite some things you may not like is essential. Sometimes you can reach an impasse in life and a counselor could be of assistance to both of you.

This isn’t always easy or comfortable. But communicating with a non combative tone will be essential for better understanding.

Parental Response To Their Children’s Self Harm

Imagine you found out that your child was harming themselves. Pretty alarming. First remain calm. Then create a safe space so your child can communicate with you about this.

Next communication. If you have a gap in communication withe your child then learn how to talk with them. No or limited communication isn’t good. You will never get any answers on why they are doing this and the cause.

Your child feeling that you are a safe harbor for them to talk to is key to getting to this issue. If you can’t talk about it or they won’t talk to you about this then they will likely do it behind your back. A counselor would be a good place to start to get another person to hopefully help your child to open up communication on this. Also getting ideas on what you can do.
