Unless you are home bound and never deal with anyone chances are when you do interact with others there can be a time when something someone else said will offend you, upset you or make you angry. What they have said to you possibly isn’t true or a personal slight that does offend you.

How do you react? Or do you react? If this person is a friend and the relationship over time has been positive you might either let it go or you can ask about their statement and get more information. Maybe they had no intention of hurting or offending you. This might be worth finding out.

We all have feelings and do get hurt by offensive comments by others. Question is is it worth letting it ruin your day or harboring ill will toward someone else? Probably not. The other person may not realize that they have offended you.

It is your choice as to how you react to this. Many times when it is a friend, family or a loved one it might be best to let this go before damage to the relationship is caused. Middle School Helps

When a child is in middle school it is a formative time in a child’s life. They are thinking and searching for direction. While they may not find the final direction they will be taking the search is on for sure.

Influences both good and bad are in their sights. The choice remains with them. Your suggestions and trying to steer them a certain way while maybe good for in some ways, but if insisted upon, well things might not go so well.

If you as a parent are dead set on them being a football player they might become a football player. But if it is not in reality their choice they may continue to do it but resent it.

Within reason they need to try to find their own way. Not to a point of finding something dangerous or illegal but they may try many things. Just like you as an adult can try and fail they may do the same. And they should have that opportunity. Don’t send them a certain way that you want them to go but help them to find their own way.

What To Do About A Toxic Relationship

This video features counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Jack Smith and they are discussing “What To Do About A Toxic Relationship”.

Relationships can be great or they can be complicated. If it’s great and both parties are happy and uplifting each other don’t fix it. On the other hand if there are issues that can change things completely.

Does your partner help you be better or bring the best out in you and you in them? If not you might give this some thought. When you are with your significant other do you feel worse or better? Is it turmoil or very negative dealing with this person? Or do you bring out the negative or hard feelings in your partner? Are they better or worse because of you?

These are things to consider in a relationship. A good relationship is positive. You bring the best out in each other. You can’t wait to see the other person soon. It is something to look forward to.

If your relationship is not so good think about why it isn’t so good. If it is one or both of you this is probably a time when discussing this with and unbiased counselor that may be able to point out things that you are not considering or seeing.

Validating An Irrational Belief

This video features counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Jack Smith and they are discussing “Validate Rational Beliefs”.

When going through life what you have done and what you have experienced form who you are today. Some things you have done and experienced have shaped your life for good and some not so good. The real question is do you realize what is good and what would be considered irrational beliefs?

If you are consciously doing things in you life that you know is detrimental for you life and well being but yet you continue to do these things that would be considered irrational behavior. Your belief that these things that you think are not harmful in some way are very possibly just not recognizing what is good for you or not.

If you are unhappy or have problems dealing with everyday life and people in your life then you might want to evaluate what your actions and beliefs are and see if these things and beliefs might be adding to your problems and you are just not recognizing them.

You might just need to discuss your issues with a counselor to see if you are missing things that you can change in your life that might greatly improve your place in your life and help you to become happier.
