Has something in your life changed recently that might be causing this? Are you misunderstood at work? At home? By your spouse? By your children?

Sometimes your thoughts and what you convey to others verbally isn’t exactly the same. If you suspect this might be the issue then try to think before you speak and be sure what you are saying is in line with your thoughts and try to be sure that is what you are meaning to say.

How To Stop Fixing People

Fixing people or saving them. Do you do this? If you do then ask yourself why? Are you doing this for them or to to make yourself feel better?

It can be a tricky situation. Before doing any of this ask yourself are you trying to fix or save someone for you own gratification or to help the other person. Did they ask for help? Do they really even need help.

Being a savior to everyone you think needs help could backfire on you. Maybe you thinking they need help isn’t what they want. Then what?

This is not to say you shouldn’t try to help someone. But be sure of your intensions and examine yourself first then you can take a look at who you want to help.If you have doubts about any of this then maybe you should seek counseling to work through these things.

No Change For Me

If you have kids you might recognize the thought behind “No Change For Me”. As a child we can be selfish and stubborn. Not willing to change. Mom or dad usually correct this kind of behavior if needed. But what about when you re adult?

As an adult are you unwilling to change? Maybe at your circumstances aren’t at a point where you feel change is necessary. If so great. But what if you aren’t happy or fulfilled or having some other issue in your life then you might want to consider change. But it may be uncomfortable to do so.

Facing and being willing to change behavior can be very uncomfortable. Sometimes it hurts. Facing what others are seeing in you or experiencing when they are around you. You might not even be aware of it. Your behavior and generally how you treat other people or yourself you are possibly unaware.

Signs that this is happening, like people who once were very close to you seem distant. Wife or kids not really wanting to be around you. Relatives not engaging like they used to. Also common is how you treat yourself and others. If any of these things or anything else seem off or not quite right wouldn’t you want to change and make your life better and more fulfilling?Speaking with a counselor could help shed some light on things.

Marriage and communication. Not always practiced together and definitely not always done correctly. If your spouse says something hurtful do you stuff it in your memory to be used at another time in an argument? Or do you get it out then and now?

If you tend to stuff how you are feeling about something your spouse said that was hurtful to you then you are building up negative feelings to bring up at a later time. You would be better served to get it out without totally condemning your spouse just to let them know that what they said was hurtful to you.

Communication is a learned skill. You may not know coming into a marriage how to communicate. But chances are your spouse will give you a quick crash course. This could lead to no communication for days to sleeping on the couch. To avoid these things learn to communicate.
