There are stubborn people everywhere. They could be your spouse, your boss, a relative. Stubborn people are out there. And we all know what dealing with them can be like.
They can be dug in to their belief about a particular subject or matter. Some are so insistent about something they believe that they will deny proof put right in from of them. It isn’t likely that you will change their mind about anything. So how do we deal with them?
Being just as stubborn and argumentative as they are really just doesn’t work. An approach of patience and love will take you much further with them. And to be clear is what they are being stubborn about of great importance? Most times not.

Realistic Grace
Realistic Grace
Contained in this weeks video are counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Destini Ramsey and the are talking about “Realistic Grace”. We have all been in the position of being told by someone that they have changed. Grace is needed and a wonderful thing that we all need at times. This could be a spouse or child or most anyone we have a relationship with.
If the person who has proclaimed change in their life it might be wise to as has been said to “trust but verify”. If you have been hurt by this person in some way then believing that they have really changed is fine but always watch what they say and do. True change will take time and might not be immediate.
If you feel you need to change then adjusting the way you think is a great start to true change. The saying “change your mind and change your life” comes to mind. Sometimes we might need guidance to achieve these things and speaking with a counselor might be in order.

While “Stranger Things” is a TV show that lets us consider the unknown and the metaphysical things we as humans are physical and metaphysical.
The real point to this is how do we view ourselves? Do we see ourselves in the light of the worst things we have ever done? If you have accepted Jesus as your lord and savior then you are forgiven of your sins and whatever you have done. Time to move forward without guilt and shame.
But sometimes other people and more importantly our mind condemns us. For some it can be very difficult to move forward and put whatever we have done behind us. Also some people just won’t let us forget either.
Your past and whatever you may have done are just that. In the past! Living in guilt and shame won’t accomplish anything and get you anywhere you want to go.

In today’s sensationalized world of 24 hour cable and broadcast news and constant anxiety driven content the current tragic school shootings are just unimaginable to most people.
The anxiety caused by subjecting yourself and your kids to this sad and difficult to imagine news stories can be debilitating. Parents can have a difficult time sending their kids to school and kids can live in fear of the worst.
There are no clear answers to all of this currently but life goes on and you might want realize that the chances of this happening at your children’s school is low and this is not normal for most cities and states. You and your kids could live your life paralized in fear or you can choose to trust God with your life due to the fact if the worst did happen there is something after this life for Christians.
Living in fear and anxiety is like trying to avoid the wind and rain. It will happen no matter what we do and how we react to it is how we will view it. You can always prepare for the worst but expect the best.
Don’t let fear and anxiety rule your life but trust in God and move forward. If you are having problems with fear and anxiety about these situations you may want to speak with a counselor about how to talk to your kids about these things.
