When your kids are playing games or just in chat rooms or many other activities on the internet do you know who they are talking to? Many times it is innocent and its just other kids having a good time but sometimes it isn’t.

When your kids are online do they go into their bedroom or other room and close the door and put on headphones and you have no idea what they are doing or who they are interacting with? This could turn out to be a dangerous activity.

You need to know who they are talking to and what they are talking about and what exactly is going on. As I said it could be just kids having a good time but there are people out there who you don’t know who they are and what their intentions, beliefs and morals are.

This could be recipe for disaster for you kid, teenager. Male or female it’s just a very risky situation not knowing what going on in their chats, games and other activities online.

This also holds true in the real non virtual world too. Don’t sleep on this one as your kids well being is at stake.

How Involved Should You Be

This video features counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Jack Smith are discussing “How Involved Should You Be”.

When your child attends counseling sessions the child’s sessions are confidential by law. As a parent you might feel as if you should know more than is allowed about their sessions or be too closely involved.

While being involved in you child’s life is great and necessary the child needs to feel that they do have that confidentiality when speaking with a counselor that is required to have their therapy work.

As the child’s parent a separate counseling session for the parent or parents can be of value to uncover possible separate issues the parent may need to deal with.

The christian counselor is a neutral and impartial party in this. Their place is to listen and suggest possible other things that may have not been thought of to child or parent.

Parents should support their child in every way possible but counseling is a private and separate part of the psychotherapy process. Don’t grill the counselor for information they can’t give you but take what information they can talk about and work with your child at home.

Most of us have heard of being in a rut. Or maybe you have heard of and athlete or many other people being in a rut or a slump. Are you in a rut?

Our perception of being in a rut is in our mind. To get out of that rut you will need to change your thinking about whatever you think you may be in a rut about.

It could be an athlete or someone taking tests or someone that is doing a particular task or service or many other things. The pressure to succeed can be a problem with what we perceive as being in a rut or slump.

Don’t look back at your failures recognize you successes. It may not be easy to do that sometimes but your mindset has everything to do with you being in a rut or slump.

I’m Not Sorry

When people have wronged other people in some way they need to apologize or say I’m sorry. Correct?

Well due to pride or evading being accountable for your actions you refuse. Really?

This is a bad pattern to get into. Or an apology that isn’t truly meant for the person that has been hurt. Thats no good for anyone.

Resentment, pride and stubbornness can do a lot of damage to the ones who you have wronged and it gets much more personal when you do this to a loved one, family or children.

Letting go of pride and resentment can really help you see where you have been wrong and maybe try to make amends with people who you need to say “I’m sorry”.
