Listen To The Messages

Today’s video has counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Jack Smith and they are discussing “Listen To The Messages:.

In today’s world we don’t seem to communicate as well as we used to. Text messaging especially can be a very difficult way to communicate meaningfully. With messages without proper punctuation and trying to determine what the other person is trying to say. Emoji’s, images. This was supposed to be a step forward in communicating but I believe we have taken a step backwards.

To meaningfully communicate with someone go to them if possible. You have the advantage of speaking directly with them. Viewing their body language and possibly picking up some things in person not actually spoken are a far better way to communicate. Some people just don’t convey their meaning for what they would like to tell you very well.

Children, spouses, your employer can all have a common trait. The unspoken. You can sense this by different things like what is your child trying to tell you that isn’t exactly spoken? Your child, your spouse and even your employer many times tell you things unspoken by their actions or the feelings they give you.

It is difficult for some people to pickup on these things and or just have problems communicating in general. If you are seeking guidance for this you might benefit from speaking with a counselor.

I Don’t Like My Body

Contained in this video are counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Destini Ramsey and they are talking about “I Don’t Like My Body“. Physical appearance in today’s world has a grip on many people that just isn’t realistic.

Women and men looking at social media with images of models and other celebrities that are manipulated images and this is on TV, magazines and movies as well. If you met many of these people in real life you would see a different person than in the media.

If you are not happy with one aspect of your body then work on it but remember it does not define who you really are. Th outer portion of the body isn’t important to what you do or how you relate to other people. Other people can be judgmental and cruel but that is a flaw in their personality.

Example in real life. I used to have a girlfriend that was approximately
300 pounds. She was very self conscious of it. As I told her that isn’t why she was my girlfriend at the time. I told her that her weight wasn’t why we were dating. I said that I loved her for who she was. Well she lost a lot of weight and started getting much more attention from men and she moved on. We are still good friends to this day and still see each other on occasion. Point being I didn’t let her weight be my point of being with her or not. Don’t let your physical appearance rule your life. Change it or just be yourself and let other people see the real you. You are unique and very special. You just need to realize it.

Ways To Control Your Anger

This video features counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Brent Hazelrigg and they are discussing “Ways To Control Your Anger”.

Anger is for some difficult to control when it occurs. It can take over our behavior if we allow it. Try removing yourself from the situation and see if that helps. Control your anxiety and try to see your anger for what it is.

Think about what you are angry about. Is it really necessary? Or is it a reaction to something that you feel you have been wronged about.
Also try to see what you are angry about and learn what it really is all about.
It may not be what you initially thought you were angry about.

Anger can be very bad for your health. Negative emotions can be destructive if they are for a reason not warranted. Speaking with a counselor about your anger could be beneficial in you can get another point of view on how to handle your anger.

Modeling Your Progress For Your Kids

This video features counselors Dr Kevon Owen and Shawn Maguire and they are discussing “Modeling Your Progress For Your Kids”. As parents with children no matter the age. You may want to ask your self, what are my children seeing me do every day. Is the example I am showing them a strong, capable person that loves their children. Am I showing them the example of a well adjusted christian parent. If you attend a church and profess to be a christian. What do your children see?

Do they see dad out at the bar drinking and coming home and being belligerent and maybe even violent to mom or kids? Did dad curse the store clerk when something didn’t quite go as he wanted?

Or do they see a man who is pleasant man at peace with life and with everyone and does his best to find good or a positive outcome in everything he does. Seems pretty hard to live up to doesn’t it. Are your children and wife worth it? Our Lord gave his life for us. Seems like the least we can do would be a good role model for everyone in our lives.

You don’t have to do this alone. God can help and show you the way. A Christian Counselor also might be a resource sent to you by God to give you another perspective on things that you might have not considered. Maybe that’s why you are reading this and watching this video.
